Pictures taken 1967 at the Stella's headquarters Stella house,Mount Merrion, Dublin now known as the Sportsman's Inn.Top picture shows new drummer P.J.(Pancho) McIlhone,he also played later in the High Seas, taking over from Jerry McIlduff in that band . Middle picture shows Stanley Johnston Vocals second tenor/baritone Sax and rthym guitar, new lead player Eddie Campbell on the right. Eddie came to us from the Federals showband, and later went on to play with the Real McCoy, Greenbeats,and Them. He later went to Canada, where he sadly, died at an early age.Bottom is Davy Walker,lead tenor Sax Myself on Bass and George Garford,(Tony G. Ford) Vocals. Out of shot in these pics Is Henry Magee,Vocals and Keyboards. Note; full credit to Stanley (who lead the band)he had only been playing backup Sax for two years when this pic was taken,but his harmony sax was spot on. |
